Adelaide Ristori was born in Cividale del Friuli on 29 January 1822 and was an Italian theatrical actress. Highly acclaimed by the public and praised by her contemporaries also for the Risorgimento patriotism that she was able to express through her art, she is considered the most famous and influential Italian actress of the entire nineteenth century.
