Ada Gobetti
Ada Gobetti, born Prospero and later married Marchesini, was a figure of prominence in the Italian political and social panorama of the twentieth century. Born in Turin in 1902, she distinguished herself as a journalist, translator and partisan, linking her name indissolubly to the civil history of the country.
Her path is remembered in particular for an early and firm anti-fascism, which began even before the outbreak of the Second World War. Alongside her commitment in the Resistance, Gobetti devoted great energies to activism for social rights and for women's emancipation, offering moreover a contribution of fundamental importance for the promotion of secular education.
